Starting with the south-east, expect a day on the cooler side, with highs around 16°C. There's a chance of rain around lunchtime, so keep your brollies to hand if you're heading out. Winds will be breezy, adding a touch of freshness to the atmosphere.

Over to the Midlands, it’s a similar story with temperatures peaking at nearly 19°C. You might encounter some morning showers, but things should brighten up as the day progresses, allowing for some dry spells later.

Moving to northern England, a mix of sunshine and showers is on the cards. You'll see periods of sunshine, particularly in the evening. Wrap up a bit warmer, though, as it might feel a tad cooler in the breeze.

Over in Wales, it's a day of early showers with a bit of a windy start. Expect the rain to ease into more settled conditions by the afternoon, with temperatures reaching 18°C.

Across to Scotland, it's a wet beginning across much of the region, with early morning rain. But hang in there; things will gradually dry out as we move through the day, though the temperatures will stay in the mid-teens.

Northern Ireland is also waking up to some rain, but there's hope of drier interludes later on. It’ll be a touch breezy, with highs just shy of 15°C.

Further south in the south-west, do prepare for a damp start with morning showers. But just like with our other regions, skies should clear slightly as the day goes on, so perhaps a good opportunity to catch some late afternoon sunshine.

Monday 2nd June

Good morning, everyone, and welcome to your Monday weather update. It’s the 2nd of June, and as we ease into summer, the UK is set to enjoy a rather pleasant day overall.

Starting in the south-east, we're expecting a day full of sunshine with temperatures reaching up to 20°C. A bit of a gentle breeze in the air, making it quite a lovely day for a stroll in the park or some light outdoor activities. Do make the most of it as there's no rain in sight.

Moving towards the Midlands, it’s looking similarly bright and cheerful. Temperatures will be peaking around 18°C. If you're planning to spend the afternoon outside, perhaps consider a picnic—it should be quite enjoyable with the sun making an appearance later in the day.

In Wales, we’re anticipating a warm day as well with highs just shy of 20°C. Although the breeze is picking up slightly, it will remain dry, providing another fine chance to get outside and soak up some sunshine.

Up in northern England, particularly around coastal areas, it's a mixed bag. A little cooler with highs in the mid-teens, but sunshine will peek through the clouds especially around mid-morning. Be prepared for a breeze picking up along coastal spots, which might freshen things up a bit.

Heading to Scotland, a similar breezy theme continues, particularly in the east. Temperatures are expected to hover around 16°C, which may feel a touch fresh with the wind. Thankfully, the sun should break through from time to time, offering some rather lovely spells in between.

Over in Northern Ireland, we’re seeing the highest winds of the day, and a bit of rain may make an appearance—so it might be wise to keep a brolly close if you’re heading out. Temperatures will be a comfortable 19°C, but it may feel cooler with the wind.

Overall, a day filled with opportunities for getting out and about without fearing a downpour, except perhaps in a small part of the west. Do enjoy the start of summer! Remember, whether you’re out for a walk, taking care of the garden, or just lounging, keep a pair of sunnies handy.

Starting with the south-east, we're seeing a delightful start to summer with temperatures reaching a pleasant 20°C. Perfect day for a leisurely stroll or a picnic, as the skies will remain mostly clear and completely dry throughout the day. A gentle breeze may accompany you, so nothing too breezy to worry about.

Moving to the heart of England, the Midlands will be basking in a fair amount of sunshine too. Expect a high of around 18°C, with no rain in sight, making it a great day for any outdoor plans you might have. The wind will add a bit of freshness but will remain largely unobtrusive.

As we shift to Wales, the day begins a little bit cloudier, with a few sunny spells breaking through as we move into the afternoon and early evening. The mercury will rise to about 18°C, and the negligible rain won’t dampen spirits much, providing a lovely ambience for a late afternoon sit in the garden or perhaps a short walk.
