As we glance across the UK today, it's clear that winter's chill is setting in, providing us a brisk but mostly dry start. Over in southern regions, including the south-east, temperatures will hover around the 3 to 4 degrees Celsius mark. It'll stay dry throughout the day, with a gentle breeze softly stirring things up. Some of you might catch a glimpse of that elusive winter sun, especially towards the evening. Moving northwards into Scotland, it’s a touch colder, with highs barely scraping above 2 degrees. However, the morning promises a stretch of sunshine, particularly around late morning to early afternoon, so it might be a nice opportunity for a brisk stroll, if you wrap up warm. Across the Midlands and into northern England, we're seeing the mercury dip to around 1 or 2 degrees, with snowfall unlikely given the dry conditions. Expect some sunny spells to break through around midday, which could lift the spirits and brighten the afternoon. Wales will enjoy milder air compared to its neighbours, reaching up towards a relatively balmy 7 degrees. Though much of the sun has graced the early hours, it should remain bright as the day progresses. Heading across to Northern Ireland, a few showers have dampened the start, but these should clear up, giving way to sunnier moments later in the afternoon. It's a similar picture in coastal areas of the south-west, where drizzle early on will yield to drier conditions and the prospect of sunshine later in the morning. So, across the board, it’s a chilly Saturday for most with some regional variations in where and when you’ll see that sunshine.
