Wales and the south-west look fairly benign overall. A few spots of light rain or drizzle may drift through, but amounts should be small, and there will be brighter breaks too. Temperatures here will sit close to 20°C, so still feeling reasonably pleasant when the sun appears. Through the Midlands, conditions are mostly dry, with a mixture of cloud and occasional brightness. Highs will be around 19°C, and winds generally light to moderate, so a decent day for getting out and about if you don’t mind a bit of cloud. Northern England has a more varied picture. Some western coastal areas may see a wetter spell early on, with rain clearing to leave brighter conditions later in the day. Further east and north, there’ll be only the odd bit of drizzle, but it may feel a touch fresher, with temperatures nearer 18°C and a noticeable breeze along exposed coasts. Scotland and Northern Ireland have one of the drier forecasts today. There’ll be some cloud at times, but also spells of sunshine, particularly through the morning. Temperatures will be a little cooler than further south, mostly in the high teens, and the breeze could make it feel brisk in open areas. So, in summary: a mild early-autumn Friday, generally manageable for travel and outdoor plans, though worth keeping a light waterproof handy in parts of England and Wales. The best of the dry and brighter weather is likely across Scotland, Northern Ireland, and parts of the Midlands, with many areas improving as the day wears on.
