As we trudge through the final weeks of winter, it seems nature will grace us with a delightful taste of spring today, offering something both charming and varied across our fair isles. Starting in the south-east, expect exceptionally mild temperatures for this time of year, with highs soaring to nearly 17 degrees. There's plenty of sunshine to brighten your commute, and with little to no wind, it'll be a fine day for a lunchtime stroll. In Wales and parts of the Midlands, we'll enjoy similarly pleasant conditions. The sun will have a good showing throughout the morning. It's slightly breezy but nothing to deter you from enjoying a brisk walk in the fresh air. Highs there will settle in the mid-teens, making for a notably mild day. Northern England’s weather doesn't stray far from this theme either. Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas will be basking in sunshine early on, with temperatures pleasantly warm for winter by hovering around 14 degrees. Moving into northern Scotland, it's a touch cooler but still an agreeable day, particularly in Edinburgh. A brisk wind will blow across the region, but temperatures are relatively mild for the time of year. Keep an eye on the skies as the day unfolds; it should remain dry and bright. Over in Northern Ireland, the weather tells a different story. It’s somewhat damper there, with rain showers early on, so keep a brolly handy if you’re venturing out. Temperatures will peak around the 13-degree mark, with mild breezes accompanying the showers. Lastly, the south-west and our coastal edges might witness a sporadic drop of rain as well. Spots like Plymouth could see some early sprinkles, but these should clear up, leaving behind occasional sunshine. Overall, then, a largely fine day across much of the UK, with most of us enjoying bright spells and mild temperatures that whisper of the coming spring.
