Thursday 23rd October Good morning, everyone. It’s Thursday, the 23rd of October, and we're well into autumn here in the UK, with quite a mixed bag of weather to usher us through the day. Starting in the south-east, we have a somewhat damp morning as light rain is expected, but the skies are likely to clear up as the day progresses, keeping temperatures fairly mild with highs around 13 degrees. Winds are breezy, so keep a hold of your umbrellas. Over in the south-west, it's a decidedly wetter outlook. Plenty of rain in the early hours, making outdoor plans a bit of a washout. It's also rather blustery, with strong winds sweeping through — so maybe a good day to stay tucked indoors with a cuppa. Heading into Wales, the morning brings some pockets of sunshine to brighten corners of the valleys, although showers are interspersed throughout the day, with highs just under 12 degrees. Worth packing a brolly if you’re heading out. In the Midlands, early risers will be met with some rainfall. However, things should ease off a bit by midday, albeit keeping a rather grey tone. It’s a similar story for northern England, where winds are picking up alongside persistent rain showers, especially through the morning hours. You might see the odd sunny spell late in the evening. For those up in Scotland, it's a cooler but calm day. Although starting on a cloudy note, sunshine is expected to break through later in the day, offering a lovely crisp evening. Meanwhile, Northern Ireland can expect rain in the early hours but brightening later with some sunny spells breaking through. Overall, it’s a day of juggling between showers and gleams of sunshine.
