Monday 25th August Good morning, everyone. As we start the new week, summer is treating us to a lovely day across most of the UK. It’s Monday, 25 August 2025, and we’re looking at warm, sunny spells throughout, although there are a few regional variations to watch out for. In the south-east, temperatures will climb up to a comfortable 26°C, making it an ideal day to head out and enjoy some sunshine. It’s quite a similar story in the Midlands and East Anglia, with highs not straying far from the mid to upper twenties, and a gentle breeze keeping the air pleasant. Moving over to Wales and the south-west, expect it to be a touch cooler along the coast — perfect conditions if you're by the sea. Further inland, Cardiff could see the warmest temperatures amongst the regions, pushing close to 28°C, which could get quite toasty. Fortunately, the winds there are brisk enough to provide some relief. Northern England isn't missing out on the warmth, with northern cities basking in sunshine and highs around 27°C. Over in Scotland, while it remains dry, temperatures are slightly more muted but still reaching a respectable 25°C in places — lovely for a day in the great outdoors. If you’re in Northern Ireland today, don’t leave home without your brolly, as there's the potential for a light shower. However, this shouldn’t put too much of a damper on the day, particularly as the sun will make frequent appearances throughout. Across the board, early risers were greeted with bright beginnings, and the sunshine looks set to linger into the afternoon.
