Across the south-east and parts of eastern England, it’s a warm, mostly dry day, with temperatures climbing into the mid-20s in places. There may be a little cloud at times, especially further east, but for many it should feel pleasantly summery, with only a very small chance of a passing light shower. The Midlands and parts of Wales see more cloud around, with some patchy rain or drizzle, particularly early on. It shouldn’t be a washout, though — the rain is generally light and broken, and there should be brighter spells developing later, especially into the afternoon and early evening. For the south-west, expect a slightly fresher feel, with temperatures nearer the high teens. Early rain is likely in places, but conditions should improve as the day goes on, with some late sunshine possible towards evening, particularly near western coasts. Northern England has a decent day overall. Many areas stay dry, with sunny spells at times and highs around 20 or 21°C. It will feel a touch breezy, especially towards exposed northern and eastern coastal areas, so worth keeping a light layer handy if you’re out and about. Scotland starts rather grey in places, with some light rain or drizzle, especially through the morning. Temperatures will be more modest than further south, generally in the high teens, but there are signs of brighter skies developing later in the day, with some evening sunshine. Northern Ireland also sees a little patchy light rain at times, but nothing too disruptive. By evening, there should be some clearer, brighter spells, with temperatures close to 20°C. So, overall: warm and largely dry in the south-east, more cloud and bits of rain further west and north, but many places improving later. If you’ve got outdoor plans, the afternoon and evening look the better bet for much of the country.
