Many inland areas will stay dry, with the Midlands and parts of northern England seeing a fair amount of cloud at times but also some decent bright spells, particularly into the afternoon. Temperatures here should climb into the low twenties, feeling comfortable for getting out and about. Across the south-west and some coastal areas, there may be the odd patch of light drizzle or dampness early on, but it’s not expected to amount to much. By mid to late afternoon, sunshine should become more widespread, so outdoor plans should fare reasonably well. Eastern parts of England look to be among the warmest, with highs reaching the mid-twenties in places, though there could be a little light drizzle or murk around at times. Even so, it should feel quite warm where the sun breaks through. Further north, conditions remain mostly dry, but it will be a touch breezier, especially towards north-eastern coastal areas. Temperatures will be a little lower here, mostly around the high teens to low twenties, with the best of any late brightness arriving towards the evening. For Wales and Scotland, expect a broadly mixed but usable day: some cloud, some brighter intervals, and generally light rainfall risk away from a few damp coastal fringes. Winds will be most noticeable in exposed northern and eastern spots. Overall, it’s a decent late-spring Friday: not wall-to-wall sunshine everywhere, but mild to warm, mostly dry, and brightening up nicely in several areas as the day goes on.
