Monday 27th April Good morning, everyone, on this lovely Monday, the 27th of April 2026. Spring is certainly making itself known across the UK today, with a bit of a mixed bag, as is often the case in our charming climate. In the south-east and the south-west, we're looking at some rather splendid temperatures, reaching up to a warm 20°C in places. Morning sun is a frequent visitor today, especially early on, so it’s a great time for a morning stroll or perhaps a coffee in the garden. As the day progresses, there's a small chance of a light shower here and there, but nothing too disruptive. Moving up towards the Midlands and northern England, milder temperatures hover in the upper teens. While we do see morning sunshine livening things up, keep an umbrella handy as the afternoon brings spotty showers across the region. Winds will be a touch breezy, around 20 km/h, mostly manageable unless you’re cycling or on a scooter. Over in Scotland, a cooler affair with highs around 13 to 14°C. Initially dry with peeks of sun earlier on, but be prepared for rain as we approach the evening, particularly in the northern areas. The landscapes might look atmospheric with a light drizzle, so perfect for those who enjoy a slightly moodier scene. Across to Wales and Northern Ireland, it's quite a pleasant day on the whole. Wales remains largely dry and comfortable, catching plenty of the sunlight in the morning. In Northern Ireland, while temperatures reach up to around 15°C, a few brief sunny spells are on the cards late evening. As always, coastal areas could experience some brisk winds, so take extra care if you're headed to the seaside or planning any sailing adventures. Overall, today paints a reasonably optimistic spring picture across the UK, just remember to check your local forecast whenever necessary.
