Thursday 9th April Good morning! It's Thursday, 9th of April, and spring is very much upon us here in the UK. A bit of a mixed bag of weather today, as one might expect in April, but overall a promising day for those of you eager to get outside. Starting off in the south-east, we're looking at a particularly fine and dry day with temperatures warm for this time of year, reaching a high of nearly 19°C. It should be a lovely day to enjoy lunch al fresco or a leisurely walk around the park, though do expect a bit of a breeze, so hold onto your hats! Moving over to Wales and the south-west of England, expect similar temperatures with Cardiff and areas further west experiencing a mild and dry day. Sunshine will be a late bloomer here, brightening things up as we head into the early evening—a perfect setup for an evening stroll or post-dinner relaxation outdoors. In northern England, it's a tad cooler with highs around the mid-teens. The day starts off cloudy with a touch of rain here and there, but it should clear by the evening, offering some lovely sunny spells particularly noticeable as the day winds down. Scotland, as well, will experience cooler and more unsettled conditions. Expect rain in the morning, particularly across the central belt, but lighter showers as the afternoon progresses and a burst of sunshine to round off your day quite nicely. Shifting focus to Northern Ireland, you’ll face a bit of rain as your day kicks off, but that's expected to diminish as we head into the afternoon and evening, with sunny intervals making for a rather pleasant close to the day. Wherever you are in the UK today, it's a great idea to keep an umbrella handy in case of those passing showers, particularly in the north. Nevertheless, with a lot of the country seeing the sun by the evening, there’s plenty to look forward to in this lively spring weather. Have a splendid Thursday!
