Starting in the south-east, the day kicks off on a mild note with a high of about 6 degrees Celsius. A rather wet afternoon is expected, with rain making a notable appearance around mid-afternoon, so it's a good idea to keep those brollies close at hand if you're out and about. Over in the south-west, it's a touch warmer, reaching highs of around 11 degrees Celsius. The early risers would have seen some overnight rain, tapering off as the day progresses, leaving you with a mild yet overcast day. Looking to Wales, it's a bit of a soggy scene. Early hours delivered a fair amount of rain, and although it lightens up moving into the day, a breezy backdrop will keep things feeling quite cool with winds picking up slightly. The Midlands are experiencing a bit of a wintry chill. With temperatures peaking at about 5 degrees, it’s a dry day on the whole with only a slight chance of rain as the night creeps in. Across northern England, it’s a brisk and mostly dry day, with temperatures in the mid-single digits. There might be a brief shower here and there, but generally, it looks to be a day for donning a snug coat against the cool winds. Scotland is on the clearer side, particularly in the central and eastern parts, where it’s dry and cool, with temperatures hovering just above freezing early on and reaching 4 degrees in the afternoon. A gentle breeze should keep the air fresh without being too biting. Northern Ireland will see scattered clouds but largely remain dry throughout the day. Winds are a bit brisk, so you might see the odd gust now and again, with temperatures sitting comfortably in the mid-single digits.
