The south-west, however, sees a bit more cloud cover with a touch of rain, particularly in coastal areas. Over to Wales, where it's a mixed bag. There’ll be a scattering of early morning sunshine but as the day progresses, expect the skies to be mostly cloudy. A brief shower is possible, though temperatures will hover around a comfortable 10.5°C. A good day for some indoor plans, perhaps a cosy café or browsing the shops. Across the Midlands, expect a dry day with cool temperatures peaking just under 10°C. There's a fair amount of sunshine early in the day, though it might be a good idea to wrap up if you’re venturing out as it remains crisp. It's a brilliant day to tick off some last-minute Christmas shopping or perhaps enjoy a peaceful stroll in the park. In northern England, similar conditions persist. Northern cities will experience dry weather, with brisk winds and highs just shy of 10°C. Although sunshine makes a fleeting early morning appearance, the day will remain largely overcast. It’s the perfect weather to get into the festive spirit with some hearty fare or mulled cider. Scotland sees a fair share of dry weather today, with Edinburgh staying free from rain and having a rather cool day, highs of around 9°C. Early birds will catch the most sunshine before a cloudier afternoon sets in, yet the atmosphere is clear and bright - just right for donning a warm coat and revelling in some fresh air. Finally, Northern Ireland is enjoying a mainly dry day, with a bit of sun favouring the early hours. Breezy conditions prevail, so be sure to pack a scarf if you're stepping out. Temperatures reach a high of 9.4°C, perfect for a brisk walk through the countryside or a relaxed amble exploring some of the local festive markets.
