Monday 15th December Good morning, everyone. As we embark on Monday, the 15th of December 2025, it's a classic winter's day across the UK with a mix of conditions to keep us on our toes. Starting in the south-east, expect fairly mild weather with temperatures grazing highs of 12 degrees Celsius. It’s going to stay dry, so a pleasant day for a winter walk, albeit a little breezy with wind speeds nudging just over 20 km/h. Heading into the heart of the Midlands, there's a damper start to the day. Wet weather is rolling in early on, so do keep the waterproofs handy for any morning excursions. Expect it to dry out as the day progresses, but those blustery winds will persist, making it feel rather cool. Wales is facing some persistent rainfall, particularly in the early hours. The skies are holding on to a rather generous amount of rain today, with over 50mm expected. Winds will be gusty too, so if you’re out, hold onto your umbrellas! Northern England will remain somewhat wet, especially in the late afternoon and early evening when rain will move through. Temperatures hover around the 11, 12 degrees mark, mild for this time of year but damp all the same. In Scotland, temperatures are relatively comfortable, with it staying above 5 degrees. There will be a hint of sunshine early in the day across central areas, but do prepare for sporadic showers later, so it might be a day for layers and keeping an eye on the sky. Across to Northern Ireland, it’s relatively calmer. A bit of drizzle here and there, particularly towards the evening, but nothing too heavy. Temperatures peak at around 10 degrees, with a light breeze. Finally, for those in the far south-west, prepare for a very wet beginning. Heavy rainfall is prevalent in the early hours, likely affecting travel plans, but things should ease a touch come midday. Winds are notably strong, which might make outdoor activities a bit of a challenge. Whatever your plans are today, do keep the varied weather in mind.
