As we savour these last days of autumn, let’s have a look at what the weather has in store for us today. Starting in the south-east, we can expect a fairly mild day with highs around 14°C. While it's set to be mostly cloudy, the rain shouldn't be too heavy, so you might manage your outdoor plans without much disruption. The wind will give us a gentle nudge, reaching just under 20 km/h, perfect for a brisk walk. For those in the south-west, a similar story unfolds, although you might see morning showers around 10 o'clock. However, the afternoon looks much drier, and you could even catch a glimpse of the sun later in the evening. Heading up to the Midlands, it's set to stay mostly dry with temperatures hovering around the low teens. Winds remain fairly light, providing a comfortable atmosphere for any plans you might have. It's a good day to enjoy the outdoors without worrying about a soggy interruption. Wales will greet you with a breezy day, tipping the scales in favour of dry conditions for much of the daylight hours. Do take note of the evening, which may bring some sunshine to close the day on a brighter note. Northern England enjoys a relatively settled day as well. Highs are expected to reach about 14°C with only a whisper of rain to speak of. The evening promises clearer skies, with sunshine making a late appearance around 6 PM onwards. A fine time, perhaps, for an evening stroll. Moving into Scotland, it’s a breezy yet dry day across much of the country. Temperatures are quite mild, comparable to the rest of the UK, but do prepare for gusty conditions every now and then. That said, later in the evening, those in central parts might enjoy a series of sunny spells, offering a pleasant conclusion to a blustery day. And finally, across Northern Ireland, you’ll start with a drizzly morning but fear not, as the sun will break through around midday. Winds are a bit friskier here compared to other parts, so a good day for your windproofs if you're off to explore the great outdoors.
